Chapter 10: A Girl with No Home

The client stepped out of the car, and I glanced at him through the window. I couldn't make out a lot of how the client's face looked, since the window was dirty and the iron bars in front of the glass made it so I could only see slivers of the client through them. He walked inside the gate and stood there, waiting. I patted my dress and my hair, making sure I looked good before I went to greet him. He was my third and last client for the day, and I was earning the highest out of all the girls in Leonardo's "business venture."

When Leonardo had his thug take me away that night, I was scared and unsure of what was going to happen to me. The first time I was forced to perform sexual acts on complete strangers, I struggled a lot and tried to make them be gentler to me. I quickly learned that's not how my life was meant to be, as I usually got hurt a lot more if I struggled. Eventually I realized that they usually didn't last long, as they were just here for sex, no companionship, no cuddling. I began to realize if I just got the job done, they'd be gone and I could be alone again. When I'm alone in my room, that's when the real me comes back. That's when I can let my walls down and allow myself to miss Gerard, my dear husband. I still don't know if he's alive or dead, and many times, my mind thinks the worst, but when it does, I just look at my wedding ring again and think of his beautiful eyes looking into mine, and I feel better.

I snap out of my thoughts, ready to tackle my last appointment for the day. I open the door of the brothel and walk out to the client. As I'm heading over, I notice a truck that has pulled up to the orphanage next door. It breaks my heart that an orphanage is in this part of town, but I suppose it makes sense since all the misfits and people who don't belong end up here, in the Blue District. A small boy with dark hair is being carried into the orphanage. He looks like he's malnourished, and I feel for him.

"Hey lady! Are we going to do this anytime soon?"

The client is yelling and is obviously impatient. He puts his hand on his hip and is probably glaring at me behind his sunglasses. Feeling a little flustered because I don't want to upset the client any more than I already have, I quickly walk over to him and put my arm around his fat waist, leaning in close to his face so he can smell my perfume, and lead him back inside the brothel. I don't like Leonardo's way of insisting we have to go and greet the clients as they come out of their cars, but he says it's good for business.

When we get inside, I lead him upstairs to one of the rooms and he starts pawing at me, putting his hand under my dress and squeezing my chest. I'm thoroughly disgusted, as usual, this man in particular has way more girth than I care to picture naked. I've been here for a month, and although I've accepted that my life is going to be like this for the time being, I am unable to keep the look of disgust off my face. Some clients don't give a fuck, but this one did. He got upset at me and pushed me down roughly on the bed.

I frown, ready to go off into my happy place, where I think about Gerard. This fat guy is touching my hair like a creep, and I hate the way he smells as he leans down to my face.

"Oh, you are so pretty. I don't ever think I've had a hooker who's as pretty as you. I'm going to enjoy picturing you naked after this is over."

I'm so pretty. Gerard used to say I was beautiful. That's probably one of the reasons I'm the highest earner. Suddenly, the client grabs my chin roughly and I wince.

"Why are you so sad, pretty baby?"

He's such a creep. The client pushes my legs apart with his right leg and reaches under my skirt, lifting it up to expose me. Then he touches me and I brace myself, knowing a lot of them are rough because they don't give two shits about lube. As I suspected, he roughly puts too many fingers inside me and I can feel my skin cracking, like when my mouth is dry and I need Chapstick.

The client starts undressing and I stay there seated on the side of the bed. He grabs my hair and pulls me down on the bed. I suppose I deserved that since I already knew what was going to be happening today, it's happened twice already, but the other two clients weren't nearly as rude as this one is. He shoves me more and rips my dress off, straddling me as he enters roughly.

SQUEAK-SQUEAK-SQUEAK.

The crappy mattress is no match for his weight. Surprisingly, he looks skinnier naked. I feel wierd today, normally, I can be Gypsy, highest paid hooker at Leonardo's. I picked the name Gypsy because in my mind, I am a wanderer, lost to the wilderness, a girl with no home. Today I know I'm not performing at my best and I hope it doesn't affect my earnings. I wonder if seeing the child had anything to do with it, that poor unconscious child with blood on his shirt. My thoughts drift off to what horrible things he might have seen and been through to end up like that. I feel so sad for him again, hoping he had good parents, and then feeling sad because those good parents probably passed on in the chemical attack, leaving him orphaned and homeless.

I stop thinking about the poor child when I hear the client's breathing start becoming ragged and more intense as he thrusts himself harder and faster into me. He tries to go deeper, and I laugh to myself when I realize he's not long enough to go deeper. Disgusted by the lust in his beady eyes, I know he's close, so I begin to roll my eyes back in my head, gyrate my hips around, and moan with pleasure, to give him "the experience" he so graciously paid for. I miss Gerard, I never had to fake an orgasm with him.

  1. Wow... Omg I see Sebastian again! *Reminisces about last chapter* I feel bad for her. I know what it feels like to miss something you'd wanna see so dearly... I hate this client... You might wanna see the comment I added in the last chapter, just in-case you didn't know :D

    1. Yeah, this chapter happened on the same day the last one did, just from "Gypsy's" perspective. For now, she's surviving, doing everything she hates, but she knows being alive is better than dying because if she's alive, at least there's a chance she might see her husband again. She still has hope that he's alive somewhere, even though we already know he's fine. This client is a real jerk. He could be worse, but he knows Gypsy has a little bit of protection from Leonardo so he can't abuse her too much.

  2. O_O is that the tax collector from a few chapters ago? I knew I was right to hate him when I first saw him..
    -_________-

Aww, Sabastian in the background :( poor little guy. I'm eager to find out how he's adjusting to the orphanage.

That poor woman.. U_U First getting kidnapped, doesn't know if her husband is alive or dead, and now she's a hooker that has no say in what happens to her own body. *cries softly*
    Can't wait for more!

    1. Heehee, I adore that you paid enough attention to see that yes, it is in fact the tax collector from Francis' chapter. He is a first class douche, LOL, and he should be hated. Haha.

I loved taking those pictures of Sebastian from "Gypsy's" side of the lot. Eeee I'm excited to write more about the kids and their dynamic in the orphanage... since there isn't much to do there... -___- LOL.

Poor girl is having a shitty life right now, her life is a bunch of unknowns and the only thing she has control over is her mind. T_T Hopefully she doesn't lose control over that...

Eeee I'm happy you're excited for more. :)

  3. Ahh, so this was the girl appearing in the background last chapter... I like how everything is connected in this story.

Poor, poor girl... :'-( There, I feel like crying once again... :'-( It was really moving that all through her... *ahem* 'work shift', she kept thinking about Sebastian.

And that last line... :'-(. Of course you didn't fake any, 'Gypsy'. That's probably because you shared a loving, healthy relationship with your husband! :-(.

PS: I hadn't realised that jerk was the tax collector until I read MrsOogie Boogie's comment.

    1. Yup, Gypsy saw Sebastian "move in" next door. This happened on the same day as last chapter. I found these two chapters to be especially fun to write because they were so different, yet the same, location wise. LOL. I'm glad you liked and saw what I was going for.

*hands Kleenex* Gypsy's trying to keep in touch with the humanity in her heart since her life right now is being controlled by Leonardo...

T_T She and her husband did have a really good relationship. It sucks that they're separated right now...

Haha, the tax collector, he's not worthy enough to get a woman to love him, so he has to resort to brothels... LOL.

  4. I LOVE how you tie the two chapters together! When I read the last chapter with Sebastian I saw the lady in the background with the blue dress, but I had no idea who she was as her hair is different now from when the character was first introduced when she was first taken. That was a great tie in!

Poor Gypsy. What an awful life. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to go from a loving husband and great life to hooker in a blink of an eye. Damn. I'm so glad her husband is alive, of course she doesn't know that, but I'm still hoping he'll save the day and take her away from all of this. In some small way I'm slightly comforted by the fact that her and Sebastian are so close, even though they will probably never meet.

As well as the tax collector. Gah! What a pathetic pig!

    Great chapter!

    1. Hey, thanks! :) I had lots of fun writing these two chapters. Hehe, Leonardo made her hair all different and more sexy to attract clients. For this story especially, I really want to do little things like that, people in the background, or other things, to help enhance the story.

Gypsy is sad, but she's not giving up. She's tolerating her life right now and trying to survive, because she too, has hope that maybe she'll see her husband again. LOL, yeah her and Sebastian are now neighbors, as for if they'll meet, maybe they will, maybe they won't. :D

LOL, the tax collector. I hated him, so I thought it fitting to write him in here being gross and creepy.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  5. Oh was praying at the beginning that it wasn't the same woman that was kidnapped but soon realized it was. I'm glad she's still has hope that she may one day see her husband again. I can't imagine what that would be like. She's a strong woman.

The tax collector?! What a sick, twisted pig! I didn't think I could dislike him anymore but I was wrong.

  6. Awww, yeah, she's a main character, so we'd be seeing her again eventually. As sad as it is, the best thing to come out of that horrid night she had was not knowing if her husband was dead. She has that to hang on to. She's learning to use her instincts better since that night, and even though she's living in hell, she's learning to cope and survive... making lemonade out of lemons.

LOL. The tax collector needed some sugar because he's too much of an idiot to get a real relationship. XD He was so perfect for this part because I hated him when I wrote his character. >:D

  7. I knew it was her. Gypsy...nice street name. Ummm, this tax collector guy, is he even for real? I mean, you sure he's not squandering other people's money?

    1. She thought Gypsy fit her pretty well, since she's lost from home. :( Yeah the tax collector guy is just a tool. He does get a paycheck from the douche in charge, so he did turn in the taxes from the day he collected. He's not just using Francis' money to get a hooker. Although, his paycheck comes from the taxes he collects, so in a way he might be, but I'm just saying it's not like a direct thing. His douchey boss would end him if he tried to use the taxes for his own benefit.

  8. I love how your characters stories slowly start to sort of connect. So glad Sebastian was found and came to a place where people were nice. And next to the brothel, hope that will help one beautiful and lost prisoner one day. :-) The tax collector is discusting!! Man, I can't help but gag sitting here reading, ugh! Really good :-)

    1. Yes, haha, I love merging characters' lives and connecting them eventually, it's a fun way to begin a story. The nice mystery man found Sebastian... he was my way of showing there are still good people in this time of turmoil. XD Sebastian and Gypsy's closeness in proximity might be useful later on... :) LOL, I was going for disgusting here, so glad that came across to you. Also why I used the tax collector, haha, cause he pissed me off when I made him harass Francis. XD

  9. I agree with the others. I like how this chapter is connected with Sebastian's chapter. However, this tax collector is such a jerk! I do like her name, though. It's beautiful for a beautiful lady, even if she probably doesn't feel like it with all the crap she has to deal with. :)

    1. Aww thanks. :D
The tax collector is pure jerkface. LOL, just as I intended him to be.
Gypsy always knows in her heart she is beautiful, even on days like this when she has to do ugly things.

  10. Poor girl. What she's going through is tantamount to rape. I hope she never loses that hope, that love she has for Gerard. He keeps her going.

I see what you mean about the characters dipping in and out of each other's stories. I thought that was her in the last chapter, and of course that was Francis saving Sebastians life.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes you are absolutely right, her situation is walking a very fine line between rape and consensual. In a wierd way, her not knowing whether Gerard is alive or dead is helping her, giving her that hope. As long as she thinks he could be alive, she'll keep fighting.

Yeah, haha, she and Sebastian are neighbors, but that man was not Francis. If you look closely, he has a different hairstyle and facial hair, and I also mentioned the man having blue eyes, but Francis has orange-ish brown eyes. At this chapter, the only characters that have been shown in each other's chapters are Iliana and Sebastian.

    2. I didn't realise! I'll have to go and have another look! It just seemed the kind of thing he would do so I just assumed :)

    3. LOL! It's completely fine. I like to do subtle things, such as introducing a new character silently. It does sound like something Francis would do, you're not wrong about that. :) I also was using this new guy as a way to show that there are still some good people in this world, since I know a lot of it is me showing the bad guys running amok. XD

  11. What a pig and he is the tax collector! Well its kind of funny he isn't that well endowed lol but I feel so bad for Gypsy she really should break free and leave that hell hole behind. I like how the stories are starting to connect....poor Sebastian...she would be a great mother to him.

    1. LOL! Yeah, the tax collector is an asshole, so I felt like I should use him in another role, haha, and then make him not be 'talented,' in the sex department. >:D
I haven't gotten into the back end of how the brothel is run until a few chapters ahead, so it's not really that easy for Gypsy to just leave. It would be good if she could, but never is it that easy when you've been kidnapped, especially when you've been sold into sex slavery.
Thanks, I enjoyed bringing the characters together, and they'll continue to do that as the story goes on. :)

  12. As much as Sebastian's story breaks my heart, I have to admit that I find this one the most deeply disturbing and horrible. I feel so completely badly for Gypsy. I just want to race into the story, stab that tax collector right in the gut and tell Gypsy to run for it as fast as she can while I finish that bastard off! Evidently, this story brings out my more violent side, LMAO.

Gah, seriously though, I hope she gets out of there soon. Hers is a kind of horror that I wish didn't even exist, but sex slavery is still pretty damn rampant in this world of ours. Damn....I may have to go watch some kitten videos after this to cheer myself up! :P

That being said, I'll probably just keep reading more because this is so riveting! =O

    1. Aww, haha, the tax collector does deserve to be stabbed in the gut. He was so unnecessarily mean to Gypsy. T_T She was already going to give him sex, he didn't need to be such a jerk, but sadly, that's how some people are. *rolls eyes at him* Gypsy's glad you care about her well being.

Hmm, yeah, when I thought about this situation, I did have to think about how soon she would escape, or be rescued, or if she even would, so I guess you'll just have to read on to find out her fate. She's the highest paid earner, so there's something positive for her, her "boss" Leonardo will continue to give her 'privileges' as long as she makes him the big bucks. I put privileges in quotes because in the real world where people are treated kindly and not trading sex for money, her life doesn't look like much of a privilege. However, just pointing out some little positive things from Gypsy's point of view that she does hang on to so she can survive in her environment, as shitty as it is. LOL kitten videos. XD I have to say I do enjoy that you are liking the realism of my story so much that it's so disturbing to you. :) It means I got the feeling across perfectly.

Thanks for the kind words and I am really happy to have you as a reader. :)
